SQL Server Databases
  • LaMarSOFT.com now offers SQL Server database hosting. Business accounts can set up as many SQL Server databases as needed for free. LaMarSOFT does not charge a setup fee for creating SQL Server databases. LaMarSOFT does not charge any monthly fee for using SQL Server databases.

    Database driven websites will benefit noticeably from SQL Server database hosting at LaMarSOFT. Compared to MS Access, MS SQL Server is faster and more reliable. SQL Server databases can be used in ASP and Cold Fusion based websites. SQL Server can boost the performance of dynamic content such as news feeds, message boards, and shopping carts.

    Home accounts can easily upgrade to Business Level. There is no setup fee for upgrading from Home to Business. Business accounts start at US$18.75 per month. In addition to SQL Server database hosting, Business accounts also include larger storage and bandwidth allotments.

    LaMarSOFT does not currently limit the number of SQL Server databases per account. However, LaMarSOFT does reserve the right to enforce a limit at any time without any warning if the SQL Server database options are being abused. At some point in time, we may limit the number of SQL Server databases. At this point in time, all we ask is that you create only as many SQL Server databases as you need, and that you remove the SQL Server databases that you are no longer using.

    Each SQL Server database is growable database with an initial limit of 30 MB by default, 20 MB for data and 10 MB for the transaction log. SQL Server databases do count in your disk space quota. All SQL Server databases are set up so the user for that database has dbo privileges. You can connect to your SQL database at LaMarSOFT using Access 2000 or SQL Server Enterprise Manager on your local Win9x/WinNT/Win2k PC.

    The LaMarSOFT SQL Server runs Microsoft SQL Server 7 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server, which provides a stable database platform for database driven sites.
